MetroPCS Unlimited Plans- Metro PCS Service

MetroPCS, Inc.

One carrier I have not heard a lot about is Metro PCS. Apparently MetroPCS has several flat rate unlimited plans, including some with unlimited text and data. I have read some mixed reviews, but it sounds like a pretty good value for those who are interested in a flat unlimited rate but aren't extremely picky about the data speed and extra performance.

It seems Metro PCS was the first carrier to roll out a phone on a 4G LTE network. MetroPCS is the 5th largest carrier, and they aren't going to have the network and some of the fancier options of the bigger providers like Verizon and AT&T, but they are trying hard to make up for it with value. You might not get the best smartphone with super fast video, but if you are interested in an affordable smartphone with an all-inclusive plan, you might want to check out Metro PCS.

Verizon Has Messaging Only Phone plans

I read a lot of other blogs to keep up to date on cellular industry news. I have several cell phone blogs in my reader, including the "Cell Plan Blog." One bit of old news I missed and recently read about: They were reporting back in April that Verizon now offers a text message only phone plan. This makes a lot of sense as many people mostly use their phones for only text messages.

This should help fill a niche with plans starting around 35 bucks. Remember the old 2way pagers that everyone had to have around the turn of the century or back when pagers/beepers were popular? Ah, the old days of pay phones and cryptic pager messages. That what text messaging before text messaging on cell phones.

ATT Cell Plans

AT&T Cell phone plans are probably the most popular of all the major carriers. Many mergers and acquisitions have created a behemoth of a phone company with a huge wireless division. This alone would probably make ATT Wireless aka ATT Mobility (Cingular, Cellular one, the old AT&T, and others included)the number one carrier.

However this alone is not responsible for the sustained popularity. AT&T has managed to offer some great plans and high quality ( often exclusive) phones. After all, it is the only company to offer service for the iPhone.

The plans are also pretty popular. Features like Rollover minutes have become popular.
